I Did Hate The Car, But Not This Much

Posted By on August 27, 2008

Poor little thing had only been with us for four months before our darn bad luck cursed it. The woman we bought it from spent the last 15 minutes with it making sure we promised to take good care of her baby. Oh, how she would cry now.

Some dipshit in a Ford F150 plowed into the husband on base yesterday. Totally didn’t stop to look when coming out of a parking lot. Well over a half hour later, and the MPs finally arrived at the scene – which was on the MAIN road on base. Yep. Half hour to get to the absolute center of a 3 mile square. AND it’s going to take them 7 to 10 days to even file the police report. Way to go, efficiency!

And now, Itty Bitty Car is totaled. Yep. The thing is worth so little that the damage is actually more costly to fix. Which blows. Big fat monkey chunks. We searched high and low for this thing, with nothing else like it in our price range (el supero cheapo), and then it dropped into our laps. Literally. After a particularly discouraging week of searching, the husband went to the grocery store and parked next to it. We brought it home the next day. And now we have to go find a new one. Or, buy this one back at salvage. It’s a toss up which will bring more headaches.

Oh joy, more stress. Just what we need. Have I mentioned that the husband drives a half hour to work each day and life sucks with just one car? Or how about the fact that he gets out of the military in less than four months, and we’re moving, and there will be a new job somewhere in there? Yeah. Perfect timing.

Bummer. That is particularly bad timing (when these things usually seem to happen…). I'm sorry!

Complete and utter suckage. I'm so sorry. I hope another great Civic lands in your laps.
