We FINALLY Did Something Fun!

Over the weekend, the husband and I drug our hacking and wheezing selves out for the good of our daughter. After all, what childhood would be complete without experiencing the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival?
Yes. Seafood Festival. Every seafood restaurant in the vicinity had a booth, hawking crawfish, shrimp and grits, hush puppies, gator tail, fried catfish and all the like. The smell was . . . fragrant. And the locals – oh, the locals – really, nothing better than getting them all in one place and liquored up.
While it was no Great Geauga County Fair (still mourning not getting to that), there were lots of the food vendors (again – gator tail, anyone?), a midway (death trap ferris wheel, anyone?), and local business booths (bank logo beer cozy, anyone?). Not only did we give the kid a balloon, but I was kick ass enough to win her a bouncy ball. And then, the highlight of her day? Funnel cake.
Of course, she popped the balloon on the way back to the car, and her terrible parents inhaled that funnel cake after she got just one handful. But she still has that ball.

FUNNEL CAKE! nom nom nom.
yummmm – seafood festival – now that's my kind of festival. Cleveland can have their rib cook-off any day of the week (though I must admit I also love ribs).
When you have a minute in your first trimester feeling awful-ness, would you message/email me your new address? I think I have the old house address from Georgia, Part One.
mmmm, funnel cake. I haven't found anything yet that can beat the Great Geauga County Fair, mmm elephant ears.
Funnel cake is like crack.
