A Bit More Birthday

Posted By on April 22, 2009

The day went surprisingly well, despite some potential for gloom and doom. The husband’s grandfather died that morning (expected and not shocking, yet still incredibly sucky), and that was at least somewhere on the minds of everyone affected. Yet, nearly everyone that was invited came and actually got along. The divorced parties were plastered on opposite sides of the room, but managed to interact cordially once or twice. Awkward silences only filled the air every once in a while, thanks to a few guests who can talk to anyone. And . . . the cake fell completely apart during transport, but was rebuilt easily, thanks to thinking ahead and traveling with icing.

Miss E was oblivious to most everything, consumed with balloons! toys! people! and eating her weight in cheese from the food table. She thought the candles on the cake were pretty awesome, and so was being the center of attention for two hours straight.

I thought the way she passed out as soon as I put her in bed that night was pretty darn awesome.

Muck is clearly supposed to be Much…but at 6:35 after only 6 hours of sleep and a road trip ahead of me I;ll say that Muck is an acceptable substitute and leave it at that.

I thought maybe you went into labor seeing as we only got a short blurb about the birthday party!

@Chelsie – Thanks :-) And that is a perfectly acceptable use of the word muck.

@Kristen – I wish. If only that were the case.

I love the candles too, so cool?
I'm sorry to hear about M's grandpa. Even if it was expected it doesn't make it feel any better. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers.

Can't believe she's 2 already! What a pretty girl. We're sorry to hear about Mike's grandpa, too.
