It’s Magic, Ya Kno-oo-ow

A few weeks ago, when OHmommy sent me an invite to her Emmys party, I immediately got a bit giddy from all the excitement. I mean, seriously. OHmommy, a bunch of other local bloggers, manicures, massages, make-up, food, the Emmys . . . Does that not sound like the perfect recipe for a mama’s first time out in six months?
I’m waiting for the resounding “Yes!” from the peanut gallery.
Thank you.
And y’all? It was the best way to leap back into having just a smidge of a social life. I met so many new and interesting people, got to wear something other than a tank top with baby drool on it, busted out real shoes and got a manicure that was the instant envy of Miss E. So, a big thanks to OHmommy and to Suave for getting this girl out of the house and away from the kids for a night.
Speaking of those darling children of mine . . . This is just a glimpse of what I walked into when I got home. 10pm. A wide awake baby and a toddler with a crazy high fever, passed out in the hallway. Four hours later and I found myself with a sleeping infant and a husband kicked out of the bed so that Miss E could stop walking into our room like a zombie every five minutes and just stay with me. Morning rolled around with a grand total of two hours of sleep for me. Thank God for the husband and some awesome naps and the freak illness that was gone from the toddler by morning.
This isn’t karma telling me I need to stop fantasizing about galavanting all about and just stay home, now is it? Because I’m totally not listening on that one.

A night out is fab for mamas :) I wish I could do it more but I will take a few hours when I can get them. This Sunday we are meeting for supper and it will be my first time w/o bringing Ruby – I.can't.wait!
You look beautiful and glowing :)
Oh man, that is rough! My son asked for me to tuck him in at 10 when I got home, but after that my parenting duties were done for the night. Hope everyone is feeling better and you're able to enjoy another GNO really soon!
Don't you love what happens when our hubbys are in charge…it's always a mess when we get home.
YEAH for a great night out! And BOO for what you had to come home to. I seem to have a similar problem, and have often considered just staying home to save myself the hassle . . . thankfully, just considered.
argh, isn't that always the way? I've gone out a few times and then come home to Sick and Crank and Chaos. What a buzz kill!
You look lovely in the picture, so happy to be OOUUUUTTT! :)
Sorry you came home to that, but thankful that the mystery illness is gone.
It was so great meeting you!
