The Light That Shines So Bright

Posted By on December 16, 2009

Exactly one year ago tomorrow, the husband signed out of the Army. We were full of hope and optimism and the glass was sloshing around in all it’s half-fullness. We watched as our belongings were packed up with little care. And then we loaded up the rest of our lives and began our journey. Our “three hour tour” that would become a trip to our own living hell and back. Neither of us had any idea of what the entire year had in store for us.

We didn’t know that he would be dicked over by more companies than we can count. We didn’t know that we would almost buy our dream house, only to have it yanked out from under us. We didn’t know that our marriage would stumble, again and again. We didn’t know that we would end up raising two little girls under the watchful eye of an overzealous grandmother. And we certainly didn’t know that we could indeed stumble and fall and drag and claw and pull our family through to the end of the tunnel.

Well. We did. The light is shining clear and bright.

The husband is in Maryland. He starts his new job bright and early tomorrow morning. Exactly one year from where we started.

We can’t wait to join him on this bright and shiny new set of tracks.

I am so happy for you guys! You have went through so much this year. I was right along side of you going through my own tribulations with my own family. I am so glad there is a light at the end of your tunnel. You give me hope that I'll find the light at the end of mine…someday. *sigh*
