Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are!

Posted By on January 14, 2010

So. I’m a little late to the party, but apparently today is Delurker Day. As in, dear lurkers who may happen to stumble past this here site on a regular basis, please out yourselves. Sounds fun enough, no?

How about if I promise to share my chocolate covered strawberries with you?

Tell me about yourself, about how I can keep MJ asleep in the crib for longer than 10 minutes, about which is the best tape to used when restraining the toddler to her bed for naptime, about how to not loose my composure when the husband insists he’s not moving the furniture around the living room for the sixteenth time at the new house when I get there. Or, anything else you’d like to share. I’d love to hear it.

And? When you’re all done with that? Two wonderful bloggers, on sites I actually do lurk, are matching dollar for comments as donations to help aid in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. Jayesel, is donating $1 per every comment to the Red Cross. Modern Matriarch is donating $1 per every comment to Doctors Without Borders. So go and check them out. You may just end up lurking there as well!

    Delurking! *waves*

I'd say duct tape for the toddler thing. Not that I've EVER been tempted to do that myself! (WINK)

    Delurking here as well!

    Hi. Waving.

Fifi just used an entire bottle of conditioner on her ponies so I have no parenting advice for you.

Delurking! I just love your photos. As for the toddler…haven't made it there yet. I too would guess duct tape would be the best suited. hahaha.

Delurking here as well!! I am now just starting to get into this phase with my son. Egads!

Two words: Electrical tape. The magic is in the stretch.

  7. Karen says:

It's all about duck tape. The stuff can't be ripped by toddlers. Plus it comes in fun colors. Tie Dye is my fave.

I'm not a lurker, but I don't comment on every single post. Though I do promise that I read them all.

I have loved reading your blog! I started reading it when it was the other blog and there was only one sweet baby.

I like your pictures particularly, you are very talented!

Delurking after… over a year? Yikes, that's almost more like stalking isn't it?

We have our own "Miss E" who is almost the same age as yours, followed by a little sister who is a month older then your second, and with an unexpected mop of red hair to boot. So I love reading your adventures with your kids who remind me so much of my own. :D

I lurk! This is Alexandra from OHO. I saw that you are moving to my neck of the woods, I hope you and your family enjoy your time in Maryland!

Not feeling like the best parent these days, but my Daddy always said that duct tape works wonders on everything…perhaps that is just what you need to keep the girls in bed ;o)

Seriously though, I've really enjoyed reading your honest posts…so glad I found your through OHMommy.

    I'm a lurker… on here and on OHO :)
I've read your blog since it was your "longest year" and love seeing your photos and reading your sharp wit.

If you do go with the tape (duct or electrical) maybe you could at least use pink so she'd think it's pretty? ;)

    Delurking :)

I read all the time, your relationship with my your mom is very similar with mine, and we will be in your exact position soon. Moving back home until hubby gets a job after getting out of the army. I hope you gave me a crash course..I will need it :)

Hi! Haven't the faintest idea of how I stumbled upon you, quite a while back. Love it though!

I'm a few days late to the party, but I'll delurk myself as well. It's Ashley from our hubby's basic training days…seems like forever ago now! I've read your blog since, well, since it was your longest year. I don't have any parenting advice though, six more weeks or so until I have a little monster of my own.

  18. jayna says:

Thank you everyone for saying hey. It means a lot to see who's here :-)

I'm glad to see everyone from OHO, everyone who followed me through that long year, and everyone who has stumbled along since then.

@Ally ~ You guys are in my prayers for what lies ahead. I'm around if you ever need an ear.

@Ashley ~ Big, huge hi! Congratulations! I've often wondered how you guys are.

Delurking here. I honestly have no idea how I came across your blog. But I stayed! I have almost 11 month old twins. My son has slept through the night ever since he was 3 months old (and he was two months early, so I was highly impressed.) My daughter has yet to sleep through the night. She has decided on a lovey now, and will happily lay in her crib and fall asleep if she has her lovey with her. This is only in the last two weeks though.

    Delurking here :)

We studied abroad in Russia FOREVER ago and I read your original blog waaayyy back when. I've kind of follow on & off over the years. No kids here but duct tapes seems to be the consensus!
