The mad dash to leave the house.
Remembering the camera.
Packing it amongst the diapers and sippy cups.
Placing everything just so, and celebrating no leaks from one end of the purse to the other.
Enjoying the chaos of a family gathering, and glancing over at a moment of cherished “Papa time”.
Grabbing the camera and finding a completely dead battery, and a switch left in the ON position.
Salvaging the fleeting moment and whipping out the smart phone.

Technology has saved my day again.
And for that, and these captured memories, I’m thankful.
Oh no! But ever so thankful for smart phones. I once heard that the best camera to have is the one with you :O)
