You Capture: Warmth (Searching For It Desperately!)
Posted By jayna on February 16, 2011
The theme this week for You Capture was Warmth . . . which, despite the rising temperatures, seems to still be in short supply around here. I’m currently sipping a steaming hot cup of tea, huddled under a down blanket with only my hands sticking out and am directly in front of a space heater. I’m still practically an ice cube. Someone let me know when it’s 70 outside so I can come out of hibernation, m’kay?
Despite my constant shivering, I did manage to find a few bits of warmth around the house this week . . . or rather, everyone else found the warmth and then I found them.
Guy cat number 2 has taken over Kitty-Kitty’s favorite spot to lay. As soon as the sun makes its way around to that side of the house, he runs in and makes himself a cozy little spot on the bed. (Good thing that comforter is reversible!)

I’ve had a lot of fabric dying to do lately and one of the main things needed is hot water. Lots and lots of hot water. If it wasn’t quite so horrible to breathe in, I’d be tempted to just hover above the sink the whole time and soak up the steam. The only bad part of the process though, is that after they go in to the piping hot dye, they get rinsed in ice cold water . . . by hand. Yeah. No wonder I’m always cold.

While I was doing a batch of dye the other day, the girls were playing quietly in their room. Once I finished, I headed up to see what sort of destruction they had caused. Instead of a crazy mess, I found them stripped to their underwear/diaper and basking in the sunshine. Taking notes from the cat, they sprawled and rolled and enjoyed every patch they could find.

Eventually we headed outside, lured by the deceivingly high temperatures. For about thirty seconds, it was glorious . . . and then the wind knocked us over and chilled us to the bone. We did manage to find one more patch of sunshine before sprinting back to the warmth of the house.

The weather forecast claims it will be in the 60s today . . . but given the frozen toes I have right now, I’ll believe it when I’m standing on the porch without a jacket. Happily without a jacket.

Love the diaper shot. So darling. sometimes it would be nice to be so uninhibited!
The bottom photo is my new favorite of those two little monsters.
These are all great! But that last photo is just too precious!! I hope more warmth is on its way to you. :)

Oh my word. The girls are so cute. Seriously adorable. I love the sunflare in the rocker shot. LOVE it! I got chills when I imagined my hands submerged in cold water. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
