Majority Rules . . . But Things Are Getting Closer To Even

So. Yep. That. 78% of you were totally right that we’re in for a wild ride with the construction and destruction. *Gulp*
I still haven’t wrapped my head around the idea, and I’ve known for a week. The thought that it would be a boy was nothing more than a distant possibility. It wasn’t even that I hoped for a girl, but more that I never thought it wouldn’t be. Total mother’s intuition fail. After visioning nothing but three little girls to play dress up with and paint nails and find cute hair accessories for, I’m (shamefully) admittedly having a hard time letting go. Six drawers of saved dresses and shoes and frilly little things jumped out of the guest closet at me the other day, overwhelming me with the thought that they probably won’t get worn in my house ever again. A look at the book shelf stuffed with princess stories and pink and purple binding, or a glance around at the overflowing girliness around the house, and I’m just left in complete wonder. Such a change! How do you transition to raising a boy after two girls? How on earth do you not screw that up?
I AM over the moon that the little guy is healthy and growing and just perfect so far. Still in shock, but thrilled to be able to be in a position where that is all I have to worry about. So really, no worries that I’m ungrateful or any of that nonsense. Just floundering about, grasping this whole new experience we’re about to have.
And wishing I hadn’t saved so many adorable baby girl shoes that are so hard to part with!
Looking back over the past few months, there are so many things that made this pregnancy different from the girls that I can’t believe I missed. So many little things, from my horrible breakouts to the awful hair and crazy early symptoms. It’s amazing to me that I’m already halfway done and that the time is flying by like it is. (Being in the middle of crazy other life changes doesn’t hurt to pass the time, though.) Before long I’ll actually be showing enough to look like I’m really expecting more than just my next beer for the beer belly, and then all of a sudden it will be October! So, I suppose I better get shopping. (Someone please tell me there are adorable boy clothes out there!!)
And? Pass the boy names!

Yay!!! I also don’t think I would know how to react to a boy. So much PINK IN MY HOUSE. LOL
Oh – congratulations! Even though I only have 2 kids, the 1st was a girl and I saved everything “just in case”. But the 2nd was a boy and I had to go through 3 years of darling girly clothes and give them away. My assvice – do that before he arrives…it’s much easier. Luckly, I had a cousin and a friend both expecting girls so most of the really cute stuff went on to them.
As for boys clothes – I LOVE it. I love stripes and plaid and OMG I just got a Ralph Lauren romper that looks like a button down oxford. Luckily, boys clothing makers are starting to realize that not every boy needs sports crap, bulldozers or fire engines all over their clothes. H&M, Old Navy and TJ Maxx are my favorites.
And as for play, well, he’s only one but the Madman loves nothing more than playing in his sister’s dress-up bin, her doll house and with her dolls. I’m sure the construction and destruction will come, but for now he mostly plays with her stuff.
Congrats! What an exciting time!
YAY!!!! Congratulations! I had total Mommy’s intuition fail with Xander. I swore that he was a girl. I figured that I was right because I was right about Jack being a boy. Nope, totally wrong. Oh, and I bet your little guy will have a blast playing with Barbies, glitter and princesses!
The idea of those two little firecrackers having a baby brother is some happy stuff. Definitely. Congratulations!
Congratulations!! How exciting!!
By the time we were pregnant with Poppy we just assumed she was a girl, by default. I dont know what we would do with a blue baby now. Wonderful news! Cant wait to hear the name!
Oh no! About the clothes I mean. I was so sad when I was shopping for cute boy clothes. Gymboree has some ok stuff but nothing nearly as adorable as the girl clothes.
Congratulations on your sweet baby boy!
LOVE how you did this in photos! Congratulations on your healthy pregnancy! Your girls are delicious!
I have been told i have no naming rights but i suggest Luke anyways . A little micheal i am so sorry for you lol.
Yay! Boys are awesome! There are a few cut boy clothes out there, you just really have to look for them.
As for names…i got nothing. We had a really hard time coming up with Corben. I like Tyson, but I feel like I’m pretty much alone in that!
Yay! Again!
You will be an amazing boymomma!
(Cooper for a name. I so wish I had named my youngest that.)
And boy clothes kinda suck, I gotta admit. You have your pick of sports, animals or dump trucks. That’s pretty much it.
