Whoa There, Father Time! (One Month Old)

Posted By on November 22, 2011

Yesterday, the baby hit one month. One month of surviving these sisters, of not being sat on or poked in the eye or accidentally shoved off the couch. We’ve put away all of the newborn clothes and are well on the way to phasing out the 0-3 month stuff as well. To which I find myself crying “Noooooo!” This month has flown by and, while it has brought welcomed changes (smiles and laughs, anyone?), I am so not ready for time to go this fast. I want to always be able to sit here in the recliner with him sprawled across my chest, so deep in sleep that his mouth is wide open and blowing sweet baby breath my way. I know all too well that the time when his breath is far from sweet smelling is coming (toddler breath, anyone?).

That whole “oh my God, I’m having a boy, whatever will I do?!?!?!” panic that I had for the entire pregnancy? Meh. He’s just another cuddly, sweet and awesome baby. I have plenty of time to be broken in to the boy stuff. We’ve given just as many kisses, spent just as many hours snuggling and gazed adoringly for just as long as the other two. He has the most adorable clothes to wear and more nicknames than we can count.

(Speaking of nicknames, I am completely at a loss for his on here. N just seems so much more harsh compared to the other two. The husband keeps voting for Snoop. Five cookies if you can connect the dots on that train of thought.)

Keeping in tradition with the girls, we took the obligatory monthly picture – with the same kind of sign and on the same old blanket. And, keeping with the girls’ pictures, I couldn’t quite seem to get it right. 99% of theirs have wonky lighting or crazy focus. Thanks to a dark and rainy day and a dark and dreary living room, we’ve got plenty of those issues as well. But, tradition is tradition!

So, weighing in at 11 pounds and measuring 22.5 inches . . . The Baby!

And, of course, the photographer’s assistants.

And, of course, the head assistant had to get a few shots of her own.

(Someone already has middle child syndrome!)

It’s crazy how much “N” looks like your husband. He’s adorable! The baby, not the husband. Not that the husband isn’t cute too. Oh my gosh this hoe keeps getting deeper…

I *think* I can connect the dots with Snoop, but if I’m wrong I don’t want to sound like a racist asshole, lol. Let me know if I’m right. Happy Thanksgiving!
